United Kingdom- Staffordshire University is launching £100 million project to create a state-of-the-art Student Village, a move set to redefine the student living experience. Scheduled for completion in 2026, this new development will be situated on the Leek Road site. It promises to be more than just a place to stay, offering a vibrant community atmosphere enhanced by modern and eco-friendly architecture. Nestled near the University’s nature reserve and the River Trent, the Village will feature around 700 new student rooms, both in cluster blocks and townhouses, ensuring a variety of living arrangements to suit different preferences.

Central to the Village will be a hub facility designed to be the heart of student life. This hub will host social and study spaces, areas for events and wellbeing, and even a rooftop terrace, providing students with a dynamic and supportive environment. Alongside these new builds, the project will also refurbish 300 rooms in the existing Clarice Cliff Court, ensuring the entire campus benefits from this modernization.

University leaders, including the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor, emphasize that the project is about more than just new buildings. It’s about creating a community where students can excel both academically and personally. They highlight the initiative’s broader impact, which includes providing local employment, work experience opportunities, engaging with schools and colleges, and encouraging community volunteering.

This project is a collaborative effort involving Staffordshire Campus Living, a partnership between Hochtief PPP Solutions UK and Ireland, and Plenary. The development is supported by Pinnacle Group, Willmott Dixon Construction, and Corstorphine and Wright. The Managing Director of Hochtief PPP (UK and Ireland) praised the teamwork, expressing optimism about the project’s positive and lasting impact on students.

Over the next two years, construction will be in full swing, marking Staffordshire University’s dedication to fostering a vibrant, supportive community that enhances the student experience and benefits the wider local area.
